Vinous Antonio Galloni - 01 Feb 19
San Giusto a Rentennano's 2016 Chianti Classico pulses with energy and vibrancy from the very first taste. Lifted aromatics and silky tannins add to an impression of total finesse. Hints of rose petal, lavender, mint and sage add nuance, but it is the wine's balance that is most impressive. The purity of the flavors and textures is just stunning. Once again, San Giusto offers one of the very best Chianti Classicos out there, a wine that has the potential to elevate the reputation of an entire region with regards to what is possible in terms of quality.

Tuscany

Tuscany, a renowned wine region in central Italy, is famous for its high-quality Sangiovese-based wines. Key styles include Chianti, with vibrant acidity and red fruit flavours; Chianti Classico, known for greater depth; and Brunello di Montalcino, prized for its rich, full-bodied character and ageing potential. Tuscany also produces prestigious Super Tuscan wines that blend Sangiovese with international varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon. Top producers are Antinori, for Tignanello; Castello di Ama, for Chianti Classico; and Biondi-Santi, for Brunello.
